Mahaffey Theater and The Florida Orchestra

Moved from prior blog posted Oct 16..

I love the theatre.. whether it be music or plays.  When I lived in Tulsa, I would go to productions in their theatre, as well.  Since moving back here, I had not been to the local theatres or seen the Florida Orchestra, and it was an amazing night.  The balcony ticket I got was just over 20 dollars, though in the future I want to sit in the box seats, as well.  I went by myself, but that just meant I could focus on the music... amazing.

First of all.. the conductor was amazing.  I mean, I LOVED the music and will talk about it in a minute, but Michael Krajewski was entertaining, as well.  He told stories behind the pieces and other just humorous interjections, making it even funner.

The music was from past Hollywood films, so you had some Wizard of Oz that was nice, some Disney pieces from Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast (which was better than the film as you could hear and see the music being made), as well as James Bond movies, classic films, and they ended the whole night by doing a collage of 21 films in 4 and a half minutes.  Some of the songs were sung by the woman below, who was once on Broadway.

Overall, one of my best experiences since being back in Florida, and I will return both to Mahaffey and Florida Orchestra pieces in the future.  They are going to be doing Harry Potter vs Star wars in the Spring, but they have a very busy calendar.  I picked up a booklet of what is to come.

Tampa Bay Rays Fanfest

I’m back.  I took a break from this blog, because my life had become more complicated and had little time to do things or write about them.  Now, that’s changed with a better job situation.  I’ll kick off my resumption of the blog by talking about my weekend trip a few weeks ago to Rays Fanfest at Tropicana Field.  It was very fun, and I can’t wait for the games to start. I took this pic, because I thought it was what baseball is about as a legend ball player alumni gave an autograph to a young child.  I got several signed cards as a child at heart, as well. I’ll end with a few more pics from it. If you have not been out to a game, you need to experience it this season.

My Upcoming Schedule

First, I want to apologize for falling behind in posting things I have attended over the last weeks.  There were some personal challenges I had to overcome, but those seem to be settling.  I will post those events retroactively over the upcoming week. I have been scheduling and planning different things in different areas of interest, and I thought what better way to do this than to put events COMING on the blog and not just those I have attended as inspiration.  I may not always have the time to keep up with it, but I'm going to try.  Also, this won't list every event in Tampa Bay.  There isn't enough time for that.  I recommend you check out my page listing sources of events for things no listed. Note.. where I say this is a Meetup event.  That doesn't mean it is EXCLUSIVELY meetup... just that a meetup group has chosen it to do.  You can either join the meetup group and rsvp or just go on your own. My upcoming schedule... Sunday, April 9th 11 AM at Armature Works -
